Photos can easily be displayed as a slideshow by adding slider="true" to the gallery shortcode.
The following thumbnails are displayed using the regular gallery shortcode. Hoon nicely styles gallery thumbnails up to six columns wide!
The text shown in the black bar of the slideshow is the images caption. The caption is also displayed beneath each thumnbail if set.
And thats how that’s handled.

On my way home from Kuala Lumpur, I stopped in the city of Bangkok for a day. Besides eating tons of fantastic Thai food, I snuck into some beautiful Buddhist temples and got lost in the Blade Runner neighborhoods. The highlight for me was watching a live Muay Thai kickboxing tournament. Incredible! The fighters remained remarkably calm and focused throughout their flurries of kicks and punches. Surprisingly, it looked more like a chess match than a brawl.
