Pulp is one of my all-time favorite bands. Last night, they played a killer show. I love their music, especially Jarvis Cocker’s lyrics. It was a total blast to see them perform live at the Music Box in Pomona, CA. They were in fine form. “Wanna live with common people like you!”

Beijing-a-ling
Beijing Bird’s Nest, Great Wall, etc:
We flew to Beijing to record a live dvd concert of Leehom Wang’s “Music Man II: Open Fire” show in the Bird’s Nest Stadium. Grecco, Eric, Ting Ting, and I squeezed in a couple of trips to the Great Wall and the Forbidden City (if anyone tells me something is forbidden, I have to see it). After our traditional Peking Duck feast, I split off to explore the 798 Art District. I could easily see myself spending many an afternoon there, roaming the alleys, snapping photos, stopping for coffee, reading the street signs, answering my deepest life questions. Never enough time!
One Night In Bangkok
On my way home from Kuala Lumpur, I stopped in the city of Bangkok for a day. Besides eating tons of fantastic Thai food, I snuck into some beautiful Buddhist temples and got lost in the Blade Runner neighborhoods. The highlight for me was watching a live Muay Thai kickboxing tournament. Incredible! The fighters remained remarkably calm and focused throughout their flurries of kicks and punches. Surprisingly, it looked more like a chess match than a brawl.
